‘I Was Born To Be A Mum!’
Her appearance in Paris had everyone talking and Look can reveal Cheryl’s been leaning on a certain A-lister for advice …
How happy does Cheryl look? Glowing, the 33-year-old singer was the centre of attention at the L’oréal Paris Gold Obsession Party in Paris last week, where she appeared to be showing off a hint of bump after five weeks in hiding. And it meant that bookmakers stopped taking bets on her and Liam Payne making a big announcement.
‘We no longer think it’s a viable market to bet on as the pictures seem to suggest a baby is on the way,’ says William Hill’s Joe Crilly.
Cheryl’s been at the centre of baby talk ever since she made her first public appearance with Liam at Eva Longoria’s Global Gift Gala at Paris’s Four Seasons Hotel back in May, when fans freaked out on Twitter after spotting what seemed to be a tiny bump around her stomach, followed by her absence at several summer parties. Then last week her mum Joan Callaghan was seen buying a birthing pillow at Mothercare, prompting yet more rumours. But there’s still been no official confirmation.
Instead, Cheryl has suspended comments on her Instagram account in an apparent attempt to fend off the fans demanding to know if she’s expecting 23-year-old Liam’s baby – a move seemingly prompted by a mega-a-list mum who she’s turned to for advice.
At the Paris event last week, Cheryl bumped into model and mum of one Lara Stone, who split with husband David Walliams last year. ‘They’ve met previously but they were getting on really well this time,’ says our insider. ‘Cheryl sympathised with Lara about going through a split in the spotlight and Lara was dishing out tips about motherhood and the way the body changes in pregnancy.’
Cheryl, who’s previously stated: ‘I was born to be a mum,’ has been open about her body insecurities in the past and there’s no denying that she looks so much healthier than her pre-x Factor 2015 figure, when fans were worried about her ‘skeletal’ shape. It later transpired she was dealing with a painful split from Jean-bernard Fernandez-versini after just 18 months of marriage.
Lara would also be a useful person for Cheryl to talk to about how a child might potentially affect her career, which she takes seriously. ‘Lara admitted to having huge selfdoubt during her pregnancy with Alfie as she convinced herself she’d never work again,’ adds another pal.
The pair do oddly have one particular thing in common – they both love the name Alfie. In a previous interview, Cheryl confessed: ‘I’m obsessed with babies. Of course I’ve thought about baby names a million times.
