WHAT TO WEAR... An Embroidery Masterclass
It’s the summer trend that just keeps on giving! This week you’ve been wearing and sharing your best embroidered buys… and Look loves it!
Forget frayed denim and crushed velvet; 2016 has been dominated by a new (and totally romantic) texture fix. Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Dries Van Noten, Erdem and Alexander Mcqueen were just some of the designers to showcase embroidered pieces on the runway and it wasn’t long before the high street began tempting us with its own haute homages. Fast-forward six months and we’ve seen more ornate needlework than even a BBC period drama could muster. From haberdashery florals to kitsch slogans sewn on skirts, dresses and dungarees, nothing’s been spared the embroidered touch. A beloved summer must-have, Look Influencers, street stylers and you are now thinking up new ways to make their buys work for the colder months too, with over-the-knee boots and colour pop coats reigning supreme. Well, when they’re this pretty, we can hardly blame you for wanting to keep the embroidered vibe alive all winter too …
