Cheryl ‘It’s embarrassing!’

It’s all she’s wanted for a long time but our insiders reveal Cheryl’s reeling following the end of her second marriage

Look (UK) - - FRONT PAGE -

Another week of drama for Cheryl as finally, after a year of wrangling, her divorce from husband of 19 months Jeanbernard Fernandez-versini was granted. A statement from her rep said last week: ‘Cheryl and Jean-bernard have obtained a decree nisi in their divorce proceedings. No further comment will be made and they ask for their privacy to be respected.’

It marks the end of a long battle for Cheryl, 33, whose relationship with 23-year-old Liam Payne has been overshadowed by her divorce proceedings with JB. Friends say that while she’s hurt and embarrassed by the past year, she can finally move on with Liam.

As Look reported previously, Cheryl’s beau may have already proposed – he’s desperate to cement their 10-month relationship for good. Despite this, the pair will have to wait for another six weeks before the final order officially ending Cheryl and JB’S marriage – known as a decree absolute – can be granted, enabling either party to move on and remarry. While fans would expect the former Girls Aloud singer to be beaming with happiness following the news, Cheryl is still feeling sore in the wake of her second failed marriage. ‘I’m still a person. I’m still getting divorced – it hurts,’ she said on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories in 2009, where she spoke about her divorce from Ashley Cole, adding: ‘It’s embarrassing. I feel numb.’ She did, however, tweet Little Mix last week asking for their new album, which includes the song Shout Out To My Ex. Throwing shade?

Cheryl, who’s neither confirmed nor denied she’s pregnant despite debuting a bump in Paris two weeks ago, previously admitted ‘there’s no right or wrong’ when it comes to relationships. ‘I’d never have taken my vows if I didn’t [think it would last forever]. It’s not something you’d ever go into lightly, thinking: “If I feel differently later it doesn’t matter.”’

So will Cheryl be more cautious third time round? It’s unlikely. Pals tell us she ‘doesn’t want to waste any time when it comes to Liam,’ so it’s no wonder she’s ploughing ahead with their wedding plans. They want to be ‘married as soon as possible’ according to our insiders.

‘Cheryl and Liam want to marry abroad. They’ll fly their friends and family over for complete privacy,’ says our source. ‘Their wedding plans all had to be very secretive while the divorce was in progress but now Cheryl wants to move things on very swiftly – they both know the future is all that matters now.’

With the news that Liam has secured a US record deal with Republic Records, the pair are now reportedly looking at homes in LA to make the US their permanent base.

‘Cheryl’s hoping that Los Angeles is where they can create their future together,’ adds our source. ‘She sees this as the perfect time to make a completely new start.’

The Geordie singer sent Twitter into meltdown last week when photos surfaced of her cuddling Liam’s dog Parker at former bandmate Nicola Roberts’ birthday dinner. She kept her bump hidden in the photos but is expected to address all the rumours at her Stormflower Platinum perfume signing in London this week.

Cheryl told us exclusively: ‘I had so much fun creating this fragrance. It’s different to the other Stormflower perfumes so it took a little longer to create. I wanted everything to echo the change in smell. The scent is really beautiful, moreish and it can be worn day or night.’ Life does seem to be smelling pretty sweet for Cheryl.
