Cheryl’s big Move…
Has Cheryl really turned her back on her first love? The star seems to be hinting at it
Can you believe it’s been seven long years since Cheryl released her first solo single Fight For This Love in 2009? A lot’s changed since then. Not only has she had nine hit singles, the 33-year-old’s been divorced twice – most recently ending her marriage to Jean Bernard Fernandez-versini in court after a long-running battle. Now she’s loved-up with 1D’s Liam Payne, who she’s apparently set to marry next year, while the pair are yet to confirm any ‘pregnancy’ despite the recent speculation.
And insiders have told Look that now she’s feeling more settled in her life, Cheryl’s about to make a huge U-turn in her career, moving away from music. Nooo! The former singer is keen to seek to carve out a more wholesome image for herself, citing Victoria Beckham as an inspiration.
‘Cheryl knows she’s reaching a really important crossroads in her life and career,’ says our source. ‘She wants the year ahead to be full of new challenges and she wants family at the forefront.’
Liam’s already believed to have proposed to Cheryl and her divorce will be fully finalised in a few weeks, so she can start planning for their future. The pair have been househunting in LA as Liam also plans to spend more time recording there.
‘I know that if she does become a mum, she wants to be there 24/7 and enjoy every second of the baby’s first year – and that would mean seriously rethinking the direction her career is taking,’ adds a pal.
It’s something her former Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh has had a lot of success with. Currently pregnant with her second child, Kim announced last week that she’s launching her own kids’ clothing collection, Kimba Kids, and has also been the face of several parenting projects.
‘Cheryl’s seen what her friends have done and views it as a chance to relaunch herself,’ says our source. ‘She has an opportunity to become one of the top women in the spotlight and could be blogging, writing books and even making TV shows about family life with Liam. She wants to make her whole world about her family.’
