Al­though the fab­ric was in­vented in 1929, it wasn’t un­til the 60s that it re­ally caught on, with the likes of Twiggy lead­ing the charge. Since then, ev­ery diva worth her salt has a furry best friend – and they know faux is the only way to go. VB rocked hers in the 90s, while Si­enna had the early noughties cov­ered. Now, cult de­sign­ers like Shrimps and Char­lotte Si­mone have in­jected some fun into their faux, with bold colours and even print. Haven’t joined the club yet? Never fear, there’s still time.
