Thought yoga was just a load of downward dogs? Er, not quite. Cat Meffan shows her 50.8k followers that our bodies are WAY more flexible than we think…

Body & Mind ‘yoga has the power to energise me for the day ahead but also totally relax me when i need it. it’s amazing for stress and anxiety, and can aid injury recovery. it can of course also help to build a beautiful body with strong, lean muscles.’ Give it a Go ‘A nice forward fold helps to ease and lengthen hamstrings. This can be done sitting down with legs straight in front, or standing up, taking hold of opposite elbows to help lower your torso down.’

HOW do you Bend like that? ‘i was throwing myself around doing crazy moves as a gymnast at the age of six, so i guess i’ve always had it in me. With my yoga practice, i always ensure i’m nice and warm before pulling out any of those fancy moves.’

Red-faced Moments ‘I’ve face-planted many times when trying new arm balances! I’ve also had a pair of leggings split at the crotch mid-yoga class. Fortunately I knew the teacher well, so quickly slipped out.’

eat like a yogi ‘over time i’ve learned everything really is ok in moderation, as my mother’s been telling me for years! i treat myself when i want to, but make sure i balance it out with lots of healthy and nutritious foods. i’ve been using coconut oil for all cooking over the past few years and i love it.’
