A staple of North African and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as being the most widely consumed meat in the world. It’s low in fat and higher in protein than some other meats, plus it’s higher in iron than beef, pork or lamb. It can be considered an ethical choice too. Despite all this, it rarely makes it onto UK dinner tables. But that’s all set to change in 2017 as recent whispers report Waitrose and Sainsbury’s may soon have goat meat on the menu.
