No time? This five-in­gre­di­ent meal’s a mid­week win­ner

Ba­con, Rocket, Mangetout, Spaghetti, chilli

COSTS £5 -£1.25 per serv­ing

Boil the spaghetti for 12 min­utes or un­til al dente. Fry off diced ba­con and (op­tional) gar­lic.

Put a bag of rocket (roughly chopped) and a tea­spoon of chopped chilli in a bowl. Place the mangetout in a colan­der and drain the pasta di­rectly onto it. toss all the in­gre­di­ents to­gether with a glug of olive oil, sea­son and fin­ish with shav­ings of Parme­san if you have it on hand.

Serves 4 peo­ple or 2 din­ners and 2 lunches
