As her romance with Prince Harry hots up, Meghan’s got some big news…

They are committed to a future together

‘It’s time to say goodbye to my passion project,’ says Meghan Markle on her website The Tig – which, she revealed last week, she’s closed after three years. But while many were shocked, it could be only the start of a series of major life changes that the US actress, 35, will make in the coming months as her relationship with 32-year-old Prince Harry gains pace. Those changes include spending more time in London and getting engaged – and they may, as some speculate, lead to more tiny royal footsteps… Our sources reveal they’re ‘100 per cent committed’ to a future, with engagement news ‘imminent’ – and they’ve discussed children too. Plus Meghan’s reported request for ‘looser clothing’ for the next series of Suits has caused a furore. A royal baby before marriage?! How very Harry… Still, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The two have only been an official item for six months, so it’s more likely that the rumours stem from a Suits plotline, with fans guessing Meg’s character Rachel Zane will become a mother soon. Of course, Meghan shutting her well-received lifestyle blog has only fuelled rumours of a bigger announcement. In 2015 she said she’d always have time for The Tig: ‘There will always be a reason as to why you can’t make it work, or why there isn’t enough time, but if they’re passion projects then you find the time,’ she said. But insiders reveal that Meg’s decision is in fact down to her plan to wind down her acting career as she pursues humanitarian projects – although her romance with Harry has also played a part.

‘He’s incredibly serious about Meghan and he’s very moved by her commitment to him and her charity work,’ our sources say. ‘The fact that she’s taken all the attention in her stride has really impressed him.’ That attention recently intensified after her estranged sister Samantha Grant, 52, claimed the star was a ‘social climber’ whose ‘ambition is to become a princess’. Just last week, the feud was reignited when Meghan’s niece Noelle Rasmussen, 18, defended her, calling Samantha ‘abusive’ and a ‘liar’ in an interview. Talk about drama.

But Meghan’s held her head high, refusing to comment. Instead, we’re left thinking about Pippa Middleton’s wedding on 20 May, where the world is waiting to see if Meghan and Harry make their first official outing as a couple. We’re told Meghan currently won’t attend thanks to Pippa’s strict ‘no ring, no bring’ policy – something Meg’s ‘fine’ about as her filming commitments clash with the date – but that could change.

So, a royal outing? A ring? A baby? Whatever happens, it’s going to be a summer of fun for these two. We can’t wait.
