‘I spent £200 on taxis in two weeks’

An event af­ter work? I’ll get a cab (so I have time to do my make-up, obvs.) Late- night wine-drink­ing with friends? It’s hard to get trans­port at this time – I’ll get a cab. I didn’t think it was much of an is­sue un­til my boss ut­tered: “You got a taxi to work?!” I was run­ning late and it was a Fri­day. Thank goodness I didn’t tell her I do it every Fri­day. (Sorry, Gilly.) But now I’ve spo­ken to Mo, I’m fol­low­ing her steps and re­al­is­ing that if I ever want to own any­thing, I need to cut it down. In the past month, I’ve stopped the Fri­day-morn­ing lux­ury com­mute and got my weekly us­age down by half. That’s a start, right? Now, if only I wasn’t spend­ing those sav­ings in Zara…’
