From: H&M, £17.99 Vital Stats: 5.5cm x 9cm Whoa Rating: Verdict: One word: Dangerous. They are just too heavy and i had to take them out after only an hour. not ideal, especially when they look this spectacular. However for special (and somewhat short) occasions, i’ll give them another go.
80s Disco Hoops
From: Accessorize, £15 Vital Stats: 3cm x 8cm Whoa Rating: Verdict: On paper, these should be the most wearable of the lot. Although weight wasn’t an issue, they did get caught in my hair. Take note: only wear with an up-do.
From: Monki, £8 Vital Stats: 4cm x 10cm Whoa Rating: Verdict: if you’re not perturbed by jingling (loudly) all day, then these are for you. You’ll be heard a mile off but my goodness, aren’t they pretty? Worth it, but maybe give them a miss if you’ve got an important board meeting…
From: Wolf & Moon, £60 Vital Stats: 5cm x 6.5cm Whoa Rating: Verdict: These acetate beauties are as easy to wear as they are on the eye. i wore them all day long with little distraction – apart from when people stopped me in the street to ask where they were from, obvs.
From: River Island, £12 Vital Stats: 2cm x 18cm Whoa Rating: Verdict: Besides them tucking into my top (yes, they’re that long) these weren’t much trouble. The pompoms made them surprisingly comfy – if they were metal, bruising would occur!
From: ASOS, £12 Vital Stats: 2cm x 11cm Woah Rating: Verdict: They’re light, yes, but i worried about them snapping as they’re quite delicate. not one for the dancefloor. The edges of the jewels can be quite scratchy, so maybe do a couple of laps in the house before you head out to see if you want to commit to a day of wearing them.
