Back in 2011, Meghan married 40-year-old film producer Trevor Engelson at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. After meeting in 2004, the couple had been together for nine years before divorcing in 2013 citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their split. Speaking about the divorce, Meghan’s half-brother Thomas said: ‘I’m not sure what happened with them. I guess they just decided to go their separate ways. It’s a Hollywood thing, I guess.’
After her divorce, a newly single Meghan was linked to Canadian celebrity chef Corey Vitiello. While their relationship was never confirmed, in March 2016 (two months before Meghan was reported to have met Prince Harry), Corey publicly voiced his praise for Meghan on Twitter after she was named Global Ambassador of World Vision. ‘So proud of my lady @meghanmarkle,’ he gushed.
