‘It Can Change Your Entire Day’

Look (UK) - - LOOK LIFE -

Says Look’s Features and Entertainment Editor Giselle Wainwright ‘it’s easy to underestimate how far one flattering remark can go. But after a pretty difficult year, i’ve learnt just how much difference the odd compliment can really make to someone’s mood, self-esteem and general wellbeing. complimenting a friend’s outfit or commenting on a colleague’s new hair might seem easy – effortless, even – but during my lowest days it was these kinds of simple comments that used to give me a boost and get me through. i remember one specific day i came to work feeling awful, having had the worst sleep the night before. After our morning meeting, one of the Look team mentioned that she thought i’d “killed it” in the discussions and it just made me feel so much more confident. even the simplest of compliments can go such a long way.’
