THE CONFIDENCE ISSUE
Millennials – and young women in particular – have been coined ‘Generation Anxious’, so likely are we to suffer with mental health problems. Indeed, one in three of us don’t believe in ourselves,* period.
While the dialogue surrounding low confidence and the role of social media is gaining momentum – and rightly so – the stark statistics remain shocking.
Which is why Look wants to open up the conversation with a series of special issues that tackle everything from everyday low self-esteem to the broader confidence discussion. We’ll be kicking off a wider campaign too, asking Look experts, Influencers and YOU – the Look audience – to share advice on how you’ve cracked you own personal crises of confidence.
It’s our responsibility, to ourselves and to younger generations, to speak out. Yes, we all suffer from selfdoubt, no matter how ‘together’ we may seem – and that’s OK. But whether it’s low confidence in your career or poor body image you suffer from, if we’re truly going to value ourselves, first we need to learn to talk about it.
Helping to celebrate confidence in its many guises this week are 84 pages of fashion, beauty, fitness and life tips – from swimwear that looks great on real women (p54) to the power of the compliment (p32) as well as the top beauty buys best championing you – the individual – on p21. Simply Be ambassador Robyn Lawley shares her motivational mantras on p30 too.
Whatever your week, know that YOU’VE GOT THIS.
