AND LOOK WAS INVITED (SORT OF!)
Sandwiched between news reporters and royal enthusiasts on the nuptial frontline, Look’s Maxine Eggenberger reveals what Pippa’s wedding was actually like IRL…
‘i’m going to be late for pippa Middleton’s wedding!’ i don’t usually spend my saturday mornings getting ready for society dos, but when the opportunity presented itself to be in attendance of one of the most talked-about nuptials of the year, i jumped at the chance.
then, of course, traffic happened. however,i made it to the quaint village of englefield just in time to see the hem of pippa’s dress cascade into the church – we had to stand 250m away, after all.
Distance aside, it was a very special day to be a part of. Villagers spoke of how lovely the couple are, reporters practised their cues to camera, and the royalists? well, they were just happy to be there.
After standing in the rain, then sun, then rain for almost an hour, the church bells began to ring, with pippa and James Matthews emerging shortly afterwards. riding through the heart of englefield in their e-type Jaguar convertible, i don’t think i’ve ever seen anyone look more contented than pippa did in that moment. sigh.
