Nutritionist Shona Wilkinson explains: ‘Hemp seeds are rich in omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids and contain 21 amino acids. More than 25 per cent of their total calories is from high-quality protein, making them a great base for a natural, vegan protein powder.’ Hemp also packs a healthy punch of dietary fibre, reducing constipation and toxins in the body. However, the high fibre content can cause bloating, so go easy at first use.
