Very seldom do flitting trends anchor themselves in our wardrobes to become fullyfledged classics, joining the ranks of trench coats, skinny jeans and loafers in the essential stakes. These aren’t indulgences; they’re investments that’ll transcend the seasons.

And while this buy definitely started out life last year as an Insta craze, it’s managed to cling on to its must-have status – through dark nights, cooler climes and the endless stream of #ootds – to once again reign supreme as summer’s hottest ware. Of course, we’re talking about the embroidered peasant blouse, which thanks to Ukrainian designer Vita Kin is now regarded as pure fashion iconography.

Now though, the high street has also adopted the trend and there’s one style in particular that’s commanding quite the fanbase. Seen on more influencers than we could possibly count, the Tu at Sainsbury’s white cotton blouse (complete with red and rust embroidery) is fast becoming the fash pack’s top of choice. What’s more, it’s also priced at a very respectable £20 – that’s an Uber ride home that you didn’t really need. Or that spenny lunch you bought, then regretted.

No regrets here though, as this top goes with everything. Cargo trousers, denim cut-offs, pleated skirts, over a swimsuit, under a pinafore… We could go on, but time is of the essence if you want to score one before it sells out.
