I have this pair of shoes – a rose gold, almond-toed set of block heels from Zara that are dead ringers for £450 Miu Mius – that I managed to snag a few years back for just £15.99. These shoes just so happen to be the most-complimented item in my wardrobe. Friends beg to borrow them, my mum considered wearing them herself for my wedding day back in 2014 and, after all this time, they’re still my go-to when I’m running late for work/a night out/a wedding (yes, I digress, I am late. A lot). So, when people inevitably ask where they’re from, as they always do, my response is: ‘Zara. Can you believe it? And they were only £15.’ (And yes, along with running late, apparently I also like to exaggerate my words. A lot.)

Indeed, nothing gives me the same satisfaction as sharing my four-year-old bargain with the world, which is why we’ve dedicated this issue to helping you claim this unadulterated euphoria for yourself. From the £17 dress that looks way more Prada than Primark to the £25 sandals influencers are trading in their Hermès sliders for, you’ll find plenty of affordable treats to quench your mid-month shopping thirst.

And it’s not just your wardrobe we’ve set our frugal sights on – we’re also on a mission to make your beauty bag a more cost-effective place. We’ve got the wonder oil that will sort all your skin and hair woes for just 35p per use, and a blusher that’s a mere 22p per sweep. Just call us your financial fairy godmothers. Now, go forth – with optimum cost-saving smugness!
