Look (UK) - - NEWS -

Queen of confidence Ashley Graham is our go-to for feelgood mantras. Now, in a bid to demolish stereotypes and transform the perception of body image, she’s written an entire book of essays about how she cracked the industry and continues to break the mould. She’s full of confidence-boosting advice… No Rules Apply

‘If you’re talking about white jeans or nude leggings, horizontal stripes, body-cons – anything. I’ve worn it all. Wear what you want.’ Lose The Clothes

‘walking around your house butt-naked builds your confidence. you have to see the things that you were told were imperfect your whole life. you actually see it and deal with it. don’t hide it away.’ Ditch The Numbers ‘Who cares about the number that’s inside your jeans?’ says Ashley. ‘If clothes are making you feel bad about your body, go ahead and buy a bigger size. It really does help your confidence.’ Be Kind To Yourself ‘talk to yourself in the mirror. it feels corny at first, and even fake,’ admits Ashley, ‘but you fake it ’til you make it! it doesn’t come overnight, but if you keep working at it, eventually you’ll believe it. if my lower pooch is really puffing out that day, i say: “lower pooch, you are cute.”’ Embrace What You’ve Been Given ‘I got most of my confidence by having a mother who never said: “I don’t like this or this”,’ says Ashley. ‘It was just: “You’ve got to love what you have because it’s the only body you’ve been given”.’
