cheryl decides ‘i can’t Be with you’
As Liam’s upcoming trip looms, she’s putting her foot down
Unbelievably, it’s already been 12 weeks since baby Bear made his way into the world – and that means it’s been three months since Liam Payne and Cheryl became first-time parents.
The pair should still be very much in their ‘baby bubble’, but even though 23-year-old Liam has already (rather smugly) admitted that the pair are getting a full seven hours’ sleep a night, paradise is a long way off.
Stress has apparently surfaced in many ways – Liam was exceptionally vocal about their son recently, while Cheryl prefers to keep things more private. Their time apart, thanks to Liam’s promotional schedule for his new music, has also been tough, but there’s now a new battle brewing between the two as he plans to head to the US to launch his music to the American market.
‘Liam’s planning to spend six months in the States,’ our source reveals. ‘He wants to make it big out there and knows he has to put the work in. Originally his plan was that Cheryl and Bear would be coming with him.’
However, it looks like this won’t be the case as Cheryl, 33, has been telling friends that Bear needs stability and their extended family around him.
‘Cheryl’s totally supportive of Liam’s career and she knows this is the time he has to put the work in, but her priority is her son. She’s adamant it won’t be good for Bear with Liam’s nonstop schedule, so she wants her mum and friends around to help.’ Since the baby was born, Liam confirmed that Cheryl’s been doing it all alone: ‘She hasn’t had any help from anybody and she’s done it all herself, she’s amazing.’
But Cheryl’s mum Joan has been on hand to offer guidance and last month architectural drawings for an extension on Liam’s Surrey place revealed work had started on converting his garage into a separate flat – ‘a granny annexe’, we’re told by sources.
‘Liam just thinks that because Cheryl’s done so well, it won’t be a problem for her and Bear to relocate. He doesn’t want to be far away and thinks that as a couple they should make the move to help his career and to keep their relationship on track,’ adds our source.
Despite his pleas, Chez isn’t budging. ‘She doesn’t want to go,’ continues the source. ‘She wants him to just fly back more often. They’re both well off and she thinks they should be enjoying the baby rather than making any dramatic moves overseas.’
‘I think you just focus on what’s right for you and you learn to trust your own instincts and follow them,’ said Cheryl in her last interview. Liam, it sounds like you’ll be making a lot of long-haul flights...
Bear is her priority right now
