The loved-up couple could be taking a very different approach to their future together...

The good news is that we’re told another royal wedding is imminent. The bad news? You might want to hold off planning a street party just yet. According to our sources, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are informally telling friends to prepare for an autumn wedding, but are insisting it will be a very understated affair.

It’s not a total surprise. After all, Harry and Megs have always kept their relationship extremely private. While a royal wedding is usually a nationwide celebration (read: a day off work), it’s fitting these two would be the ones to break the status quo. In a recent, shockingly candid interview, Harry bravely revealed he ‘wanted out’ of the Royal Family.

‘I felt I wanted out, but then decided to stay in and work out a role for myself,’ admitted the 32-year-old Prince. ‘We don’t want to be just a bunch of celebrities but instead use our role for good.’ Harry’s also admitted no one in the family ‘wants to be king or queen’.

Meghan, 35, is said to be the driving force behind the low-key approach to their celebrations, with sources reporting the actress wants less than 400 guests. ‘Meghan’s made it clear to Harry that she doesn’t want a royal circus like Kate had,’ reveals a pal. ‘Meghan and Harry’s relationship is very different to Kate and Will’s and a “royal” wedding just wouldn’t be right for them.

‘They’re exceptionally private and while Harry understands his responsibility as a royal, he also won’t let it rule his life. Meghan’s told Harry she doesn’t want to turn into a royal puppet and Harry is totally on board. Their relationship started privately and remains very private even now, a year in. This will never change.’

It can’t be easy for Meghan and Harry. Meghan is said to be feeling the pressure of adjusting to royal life. Last week, a 2014 photo shoot came to light and while we think it’s impossible for Megs to look anything other than stunning, we’re told she’s worried about any publicity at the moment. ‘She doesn’t want anything to jeopardise her relationship,’ says our source.

It seems Harry is keen to be the supportive boyfriend. He’s reportedly commissioned royal jeweller Harry Collins to create a £100,000 emerald and platinum ring from a bracelet that belonged to his mother, and Megs was also spotted with a new gold thumb ring – said to be a gift from Harry. ‘It’s more of a promise ring until they’re engaged,’ reveals the source.

We’re also told that the pair have talked about children but it’s ‘way off ’ yet. Too right, Megs. But if we’re honest, Harry would make a great dad. He’s the best uncle, last week gushing about Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, two. Speaking about being fifth in line to the throne, Harry said: ‘The reason I’m now fifth is because of my nephew and niece and I could never wish them away… They’re the most amazing things ever.’ #Unclegoals
