Rihanna ‘i’ve met my match!’

Career-driven Riri is getting serious with Hassan Jameel – and her priorities are changing

For more than a decade Rihanna’s been one of the world’s busiest women. Music, films and fashion: she’s covered all bases. But her personal life has suffered, oooh, just a little. Enter Hassan Jameel.

Since going public with her new man last month, Rihanna has been glowing and according to pals, she’s now considering a future that doesn’t involve touring and promoting for most of the year. Instead, she wants to focus on projects that will give her lots of free time with Hassan.

‘She’s met someone who’s worth walking away from the music industry for,’ says our source. ‘The men she’s dated in the past [Chris Brown, Drake] have been involved in the business. With Hassan, it’s not like that. He thinks there’s far more to life and wants Rihanna to start thinking about what’s right for her rather than what’s right for her record company.’

Riri, 29, has been open in the past about wanting a fairytale ending, saying: ‘A child deserves both parents. I can do it myself, but that’s not fair. In a perfect book, there would be marriage and kids.’ And now, we’re told, Riri believes her dream is finally within reach. It’s not like Hassan doesn’t tick all her dating boxes. ‘I’m turned on by guys who are cultured,’ she’s said. ‘Who keep me intrigued. They don’t have to have a degree but they should speak other languages or know things about the world.’

Hassan, 29, is big into charity, just like Rihanna, and is heir to the Saudi Arabia Toyota group. ‘Hassan’s outlook on life has made Riri think about what she wants for herself,’ a close friend tells us. ‘It’s the first time she’s been on the same page as a guy about starting a family and laying down some roots.’

Despite seemingly being Riri’s perfect man, Hassan has been working hard to charm her. She’s the girl who’s got everything, but it was reported he bought her a giant teddy bear and flew it halfway around the world on a private jet to reach her. That’s one way to score points...

Meanwhile, sources say Riri grew tired of her ex-boyfriend Drake’s reluctance to settle down despite his many public displays of affection. This is something she’s confident Hassan is ready for. ‘It helps that he’s very independent and his schedule is flexible,’ adds our insider. ‘He can hop on a private jet at a moment’s notice.’

But he’s not her only reason to smile right now. Next month will see the release of her new movie Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, before Ocean’s 8, in which she stars alongside Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, hits cinemas in 2018. They’re two big opportunities to show the world she’s taking her acting career seriously.

The move from music to filming is part of a plan to stay grounded for months at a time – something she’s not used to – meaning regular quality time with family, friends and, of course, Hassan.

‘Her plan is to make one more big movie, then have a break,’ says our source. ‘The past 15 years have been all about her career. But Hassan is someone she can take the next big “life step” with – and that’s a life without showbiz. She’s been very open about it, telling friends she’s about to make a big, life-changing decision.’

It looks like Hassan walked into Riri’s life at just the right time. In 2012, she admitted to having a five-year plan and at the end of it she’d settle down. ‘Hopefully I’ll have a man by then,’ she added. Maths isn’t our strong point but by our calculations, we’d say she’s well on her way to getting everything she wants...
