Michelle Keegan might be on the other side of the world filming Our Girl in South Africa, but she’s been drawn into new drama between her husband Mark Wright and his former fiancée Lauren Goodger.

It all kicked off when Lauren, 30, made a series of explosive allegations against Mark – including that she was still seeing the radio DJ when he started dating Michelle.

Lauren, who’s now in a relationship with jailbird Joey Morrison, also accused Mark, 30, of getting her thrown out of Essex restaurant Sheesh before he arrived.

‘I feel sorry for them,’ Lauren said afterwards. ‘They need to be left to get on with it, but him doing this has created that, not me.’

Insiders say the situation has riled Michelle, but she’s determined not to let it get between her and Mark.

‘Michelle is sick of outside interference,’ says a source close to the star. ‘The past year Mark and Michelle have worked so hard on their relationship. Their marriage is stronger than ever – they’re not worried any more about spending time apart. They knew changes were needed and made them.’

It comes as Michelle, 30, works on the third series of Our Girl, in which she plays army medic Georgie Lane.

‘It’s difficult for her to focus when there’s drama back home, but she’s a true professional,’ adds the source.

Meanwhile, Michelle’s had a new pal to confide in – a puppy that she’s been playing with on set.

Speaking about filming abroad, Michelle has said: ‘The hardest part is not seeing my family and friends. I know I’m in a lucky position, but you do miss home a little bit.’

The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, have been dogged by rumours about the state of their marriage due to the time they’ve spent apart, with Mark having recently landed a presenting job Stateside.

But Michelle has insisted that their career ambitions have had no impact on their relationship.

‘Everything is fine with us,’ she said. ‘We have separate careers. Why is it a bad thing?’
