Freja Joins The
# MANGO GIRLS
As the face of the September campaign, the ‘queen of cool’ gives us the lowdown
Usually making an appearance on catwalks for the likes of Prada and Louis Vuitton, Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen, 29, has style we covet – and now can finally get a piece of it. Fronting the need-right-now Mango collection, she’s guaranteed to create instant autumn/ winter outfit inspo as we all try to look just like Freja. OK, not entirely, but we can hope, right? FB (as we know her) amazingly manages to stay away from social media, so with nowhere to stalk her endless #OOTD- worthy looks, the new campaign is a quick fix. Chitchatting with the lady herself, we discover her sartorial secrets…
Well done on the new campaign, Freja! We’re loving the collection – what piece were you desperate to keep? The suit [above] feels really relaxed for tailoring. I like how it’s styled in the campaign, but I would also wear it as separates with a classic white T-shirt or jeans [for a daytime look]. How would you describe your style? I’d say my style is a simple, easygoing uniform that can be dressed up. It makes for light packing. If you were an item of clothing what would you be? I’d have to be a bra, because they’re hardworking but their hard work pays off. Who’s your ultimate icon? Women who embrace all their characteristics and who rest in their ability to do so are my true icons. Where do you get your inspiration? A beautiful poem, drawing, painting, short story, novel, song, melody, nature, phrase, photograph... What era would you most like to live in? I’m quite content living in our time with gender equality, freedom of speech and religion. We have quite some way to go, but I’d like to think we’re on the right path.
And the collection itself? Well, the photos speak for themselves. You won’t need to wait long to get your favourite bits either, as it all drops in stores on 8 August. Pencil it in, ladies...
