Research shows that consuming anything high in lactose before working could actually cause nausea because the high fat content diverts blood away from the gut. It’s the same with eggs. Pasta? Unless you’re on the move, some nutritionists have said that it will create glucose and energy you don’t need. Cherries, too – try snacking on a few before bed because the melatonin will help your body to relax before a good night’s kip. So the next time you reach for a snack, remember: timing is everything.
