Victoria: why is she raging?
Someone’s in the doghouse – but this time, it’s not David…
he’s just finished a hugely successful New York Fashion Week – but if you thought Victoria Beckham might be taking some time out RN, you’d be wrong. According to a close pal speaking exclusively to Look, Vic is actually setting about instilling serious damage control after some notso-brand-beckham behaviour.
Over the last few weeks, 43-year-old Vic has smashed it in the career department. Her brand had the highest social media engagement this fashion season, with posts earning on average between 70,000-300,000 likes and 5.6million engagements (followed by Calvin Klein and Michael Kors).
A cute snap of her and eldest son Brooklyn racked up a whopping 700,000 likes. But the cheery family photo might have been a little short-lived, after a source revealed 18-year-old Brooklyn is one of the reasons Vic’s pretty peeved. Last week, Brooklyn complained about some ‘fangirls’ at his New York college, Parsons School of Design, and Vic isn’t happy about it.
‘I like people from school, but there are a few fangirls,’ explained Brooklyn. ‘Sometimes, I have to be like: “I’m going to be with you for like, four years, so chill.”
‘They understand and they respect it, but it’s just at the beginning, it’s such a shock to them.’
According to our source, Vic was shocked by Brooklyn’s comments.
‘Vic and David have never shunned fame or appeared to be ungrateful for the position they’re in,’ explains a close pal. ‘Brooklyn’s comments cross over into this territory and Vic isn’t happy about it at all. She’s always brought the kids up to be appreciative of the opportunities they’ve been given, and never to dismiss fans. She’s had serious words with Brooklyn. Now he’s an adult and taking part in media interviews himself, he needs to understand he represents their brand and livelihood. In many ways it’s overshadowed Victoria’s fashion week success.’
Vic is also said to have been having some pretty serious chats with David, too, regarding their on-going hectic schedules. According to a close pal, David, 42, is pushing Vic to concentrate less on her fashion empire and more on the family.
‘David is desperate for Victoria to take more time out,’ says our source. ‘He’s trying to be supportive, buying flowers for Mummy with Harper and co-ordinating the family while Vic is away, but he does want her to take a step back.’
While the Beckhams are said to be planning a big family holiday towards the end of this year, we hear David’s trying to persuade Vic to jet off for a romantic break this autumn, just the two of them. If any celeb deserves two holidays back-to-back, it’s definitely Vic.
