Topshop’s Runway U-turn
You don’t need to be an industry expert to see that Topshop is undergoing a bit of a transition at the moment. But, as far as we’re concerned, change is no bad thing – especially when it means we can afford all of its latest catwalk offerings. In recent seasons, prices of Topshop Unique garments have peaked as high as £800. However, you’ll be pleased to hear this is not the case for SS18. Having ditched the ‘Unique’, Topshop’s runway rebirth shows that it once again understands that its customer (in her mass persona) is not going to spend £400+ on a party dress she’ll wear only once on Instagram. Instead, you’ll find tops from £29, dresses from £75, and coats at £140. Reasonable, then. In a world where nothing can escape social media, Topshop has created clothes you’ll want to be seen in. Heady, glamorous, gritty – every piece tells a story, and you’ll want to be the main character. Think blush leather paired with lavish marabou feathers, or suit trousers with sexy sheer blouses and you’re on the right sassy track. Topshop isn’t just back on form, it’s leading the fashion pack: luxury or otherwise.
