In a world of high-pres­sure, high-pace jour­nal­ism where cruel click­bait

is king, it can be only too easy to fall into the ‘trolling’ trap – but here at Look we’re say­ing enough is enough. We will refuse to pan­der to the adage that ‘neg­a­tiv­ity sells’ – in­stead we hope to prove that kind­ness is queen.

We will turn our backs on those brands mak­ing a busi­ness out of low self-es­teem – and yes, that in­cludes head­lines that pro­claim: ‘Too fat! Too thin! Too ev­ery­thing in-be­tween!’. Be it Twit­ter trolls or cruel com­ments that bait read­ers into re­act­ing,

Look is on a mis­sion and we’re ask­ing for your help to spread the mes­sage too, us­ing the #Benice hash­tag. Like what you read? Tell us. Don’t like a head­line? Call us out. We’re not preach­ing, in­stead we want to start a con­ver­sa­tion and this is where we all have the power to vote with our cash and with our clicks.

For the sad­dest part here is that neg­a­tiv­ity sells, and as long as it does, so too will trolls – in all their guises – con­tinue to roll out con­tent that chips away at our self-worth.

Which is why Look is flex­ing the power of pos­i­tiv­ity and mak­ing this jour­nal­is­tic pledge to you: ✔ We will not use neg­a­tive cover spins to boost sales ✔ We will con­tinue to cham­pion Your Body, Your Bud­get, Your Look – with all-in­clu­sive body-pos­i­tive sto­ries that don’t leave you with an anx­ious af­ter­taste

✔ We will pro­vide you with the es­capism and ‘treat-time’ you truly de­serve

✔ We will say YES to brands that make you feel good. Pe­riod. While we ac­knowl­edge there may be some bumps along the way, it’s high time we all stop trash talk­ing other women and re­mind our­selves how a women’s worth should be mea­sured in 2018. In a nut­shell, let’s Be Nice™
