ST JAMES’ CHURCH. There will be no service at St James’ on Sunday 30 April. Instead there will be a joint service of Holy Communion at St Michael’s in Sutton Bonington starting at 11am.

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The speaker at the meeting on Tuesday 2 May will be Clive Rudd whose subject will be “Everybody loves the Music”. The competition will be for an LP from the 50s, 60s or 70s. The meeting will be start at 7.30pm in the village hall.

It will be chaired by Sally Dicker and the hostesses will be Pat Gassor, Janet Barratt and Janet Blezard.

LADIES WALKING GROUP The group will be doing a 4 mile walk around Beacon Hill and Woodhouse on Thursday 4 May.

There will be some climbing involved.
