FUN and adventure from outer space hit the big screen this week.
Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (PG) continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.
It stars Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan and Chris Pratt.
Also out this week in cinemas is The Promise (12a).
Set during the last days of the Ottoman Empire, The Promise follows a love triangle between Michael, a brilliant medical student, the beautiful and sophisticated Ana, and Chris - a renowned American journalist based in Paris.
It stars Christian Bale, Oscar Isaac and Shohreh Aghdashloo.
And drama comes in the form of Lady Macbeth.
In this adaptation of Nikolai Leskov’s novella Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk, a 19th Century young bride is sold into marriage to a middle-aged man.
It stars Florence Pugh, Christopher Fairbank and Cosmo Jarvis.
