Buffalo Bill display at library
LOUGHBOROUGH Library is launching a new exhibition depicting the lifetime of America scout and hunter ‘Buffalo Bill’.
Opening on Friday, October 6, at Loughborough Library, Granby Street, the exhibition produced by Tony Jarram together with Loughborough Library Local Studies volunteers, will depict William Frederick Cody’s (Bill Cody or Buffalo Bill) lifetime as a Pony Express rider, buffalo hunter and scout, and will tell of the Wild West shows that he produced and directed.
Bill Cody’s life gives an insight into the American west during the era of cowboys and indians.
In later life Buffalo Bill exhibited his experiences in the ‘Wild West’ shows that toured America and Europe from the 1880s to the 1900s, visiting Loughborough in 1903.
The exhibition is free to visit during library opening hours.
