Buf­falo Bill dis­play at li­brary

LOUGH­BOR­OUGH Li­brary is launch­ing a new ex­hi­bi­tion de­pict­ing the life­time of Amer­ica scout and hunter ‘Buf­falo Bill’.

Open­ing on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 6, at Lough­bor­ough Li­brary, Granby Street, the ex­hi­bi­tion pro­duced by Tony Jar­ram to­gether with Lough­bor­ough Li­brary Lo­cal Stud­ies vol­un­teers, will de­pict Wil­liam Fred­er­ick Cody’s (Bill Cody or Buf­falo Bill) life­time as a Pony Ex­press rider, buf­falo hunter and scout, and will tell of the Wild West shows that he pro­duced and di­rected.

Bill Cody’s life gives an in­sight into the Amer­i­can west dur­ing the era of cow­boys and in­di­ans.

In later life Buf­falo Bill ex­hib­ited his ex­pe­ri­ences in the ‘Wild West’ shows that toured Amer­ica and Europe from the 1880s to the 1900s, vis­it­ing Lough­bor­ough in 1903.

The ex­hi­bi­tion is free to visit dur­ing li­brary open­ing hours.
