Search launched for role models

Loughborough Echo - - NEWS -

LEICESTERSHIRE County Council’s Youth Offending Service (YOS) is searching for ‘role models’ for young men as well as parenting volunteers and appropriate adult volunteers.

Existing volunteers have suggested a combination of wanting to continue to make a difference to young peoples’ lives and experience working with young people helped them really prosper in volunteer roles.

There is a variety of volunteer roles available within the YOS including appropriate adults, mentors and parenting. Although training was quite intense, it can help to round out volunteers’ skills which would help them carry out their responsibilities.

There are a number of ways to apply, including calling 0116 305 0030, emailing youthoffendingservice@leics.gov.uk or visiting https://www. leicestershire.gov.uk/jobsand-volunteering/volunteering/ volunteer- withthe-youth-offending-service and downloading an application form.

Training begins in September.
