Beer fes­ti­val this week­end

THE Great Cen­tral Rail­way beer fes­ti­val is re­turn­ing this week­end for its 11th year, with a host of real ales, lo­cal food and live mu­sic.

The fes­ti­val runs from Thurs­day, Septem­ber 14th un­til Sun­day, Septem­ber 17 and will take place along the sta­tions on the GCR line.

This is the eleventh year of the fes­ti­val and more than 70 guests beers will be avail­able from spe­cially se­lected brew­eries.

The main Lough­bor­ough sta­tion will be open from noon till 11pm on Thurs­day and Fri­day and from 11am to 11pm on Satur­day and from noon till 5pm on Sun­day.

The Quorn and Wood­house sta­tion and Roth­ley sta­tions will also be open over the week­end, and a num­ber of trac­tion en­gines, and clas­sic and vin­tage ve­hi­cles will be on dis­play at Quorn.

It costs £3 to en­ter or is free to any­one buy­ing a ticket to travel on the steam trains.
