Tak­ing plunge for char­ity

TWO Freema­sons from Lough­bor­ough will be con­quer­ing their fears and jump­ing off a cliff to raise money for the Ma­sonic Char­i­ta­ble Foun­da­tion.

Digby Lund and Tony An­drews, both of the Lodge of Science and Art hich meets in Lough­bor­ough, have agreed to jump off a cliff in Malaga and us­ing a paraglider, land­ing a few thou­sand feet be­low.

Digby told the Echo: “I know we must be potty but it’s for a great cause and we each have our own rea­son for do­ing it. In my case, I re­ally am ter­ri­fied of heights so it’s do­ing some­thing to try and over­come that fear.”

The jump is planned for the Septem­ber 2, where the pair will also been joined by Digby’s wife, Yvonne.

he Pro­vin­cial Grand Mas­ter of Le­ices­ter­shire and Rut­land, David Hag­ger said: “I wish Digby and Tony a safe jump and thank them for their sup­port in rais­ing money for the Foun­da­tion.”
