Roxy aiming to change image of gentlemen’s clubs
A NEW gentlemen’s club has opened in Loughborough and owner Roxy Love, who has spent 13 years in the industry, has told the Echo how she wants to change the “slouchy” stereotype of clubs like hers.
Roxy, 32, from Kent, said that she is “excited” to open her first gentlemen’s club in Loughborough because she thinks the area is “perfect” for it.
The club opened at 7 Devonshire Square on Friday, September 8 and Roxy said that she is hoping to change the opinion of people in the town of clubs like her own.
She said that she plans to do this by running events such as a ‘ladies only night’ and offering student discount.
Roxy said: “I have been in the industry for 13 years and I know what makes a good club, and what doesn’t.
“I think that it is really important that we have a good profile in the town, and that is exactly what I want to do.
“I know that in the past the club has had a bit of a slouchy reputation but that isn’t what we want to be known like at all.
“I really like Loughborough and I think that it is the perfect area for me to start the club and it is really excit- ing.
“There are a lot of areas around the town centre that I think will attract a different type of clientele to the club in comparison to those that have came in the past.
“I have changed quite a few things to the club, and I am hoping that it brings something new to the table.”
Roxy said that the club is currently open until 2am although she is hoping to get an even later license so that they can attract more people to the club on their way home.
She said at the moment the club has six dancers.
“They are great girls, and at the moment it is a small group but they have a lot of industry experience, and it has a really good feel about it.”
