Two car col­li­sion

FIRE­FIGHT­ERS were called to a two-car road traf­fic col­li­sion in Lough­bor­ough on Sun­day (Septem­ber 17) that saw a ve­hi­cle col­lide with a build­ing.

The emer­gency call to the in­ci­dent in Fred­er­ick Street, near to the Heath­coat Street junc­tion, was re­ceived just be­fore 7am.

A pump and a Tac­ti­cal Re­sponse Ve­hi­cle (TRV) from Lough­bor­ough Sta­tion and a tech­ni­cal res­cue team from South­ern Sta­tion at­tended.

No per­sons were trapped. Crews checked the build­ing’s struc­ture and made the ve­hi­cle safe.

Po­lice were also in at­ten­dance. A force spokesper­son said: “A Ford and Volvo were in­volved, we do not believe any­one was se­ri­ously in­jured and an off-duty para­medic treated some­one at the scene.

“One of the ve­hi­cles col­lided with a build­ing nearby.

“The owner of that premises ar­rived and ar­range­ments were made re­gard­ing that prop­erty.

“Both ve­hi­cles were re­cov­ered. There was a bit of oil and de­bris on the path, the coun­cil was called to clear it up.”
