Pilgrimage of prayer
PEOPLE in Loughborough are invited to join the annual Pilgrimage of Prayer for Peace.
The Pilgrimage is part of One World Week and has taken place in Loughborough for nearly 40 years.
This year’s theme for One World Week is “Good Neighbours, My World Depends on Us”.
The event, on Tuesday, October 24, is organised by Loughborough Council of Faiths and a spokesperson told the Echo: “The route will take us to meet a variety of faith communities where we will pray for peace and harmony among us.”
The route is: 6.30pm, Brahma Kumaris, 25 Boyer Street; 7pm, Loughborough Mosque, King Street; 7.30pm, Charnwood Grove of Druids at the corner of Gregory and Moira Street; 8pm, Geeta Bhawan, Lemyngton Street; 8.30pm, Loughborough Baptist Church, Baxter Gate.
The spokesperson added: “At Brahma Kumaris, at the Mosque and at Geeta Bhawan we will be asked to take off our shoes.
“At the Mosque we are all asked to dress modestly and women are asked to cover their heads. When we meet with the Druids we will be outside whatever the weather.”
