The heights of fashion
Versace’s tower is the ultimate stylish pad
You need to be a bold sort of being to wear anything made by Versace. It’s about stylish bling, Italian flair and Mediterranean swagger – everything 1980s TV shows like Miami Vice summed up expensively.
Its detectives wore Versace suits over their gun holsters while arresting drug dealers, you may remember. But that’s all in the past. Since Versace’s founder Gianni was murdered in 1997, his sister Donatella has steered the company to new heights of popularity.
And this has included a successful homes and interiors business. And the first European development to get the Versace treatment is the Akyon London One tower in Nine Elms, overlooking the Thames near Vauxhall.
The skyscraper is to include 365 one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments, all with interiors designed by Versace Home, plus a gym designed by the company too. So, dig out your gold leotards.
Residents will get access to a children’s play area, a hospitality service, swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi, bicycle storage area, a ‘ Versace residents’ lounge’, bookable private cinema and a concierge service.
Prices at the developments are typically Versace as well. One-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments kick off at £1.16 million – although you are paying for more than just the space; the flats offer stunning views over central London.
