Tal­ented stu­dents on the stage

A TAL­ENT show has taken place at St Mary’s Catholic Pri­mary School in Lough­bor­ough.

The com­pe­ti­tion was held in the school hall and 37 chil­dren par­tic­i­pated, aged from six to 11, per­form­ing dance, gymnastics, singing, karate or com­edy slap­stick.

This is the sec­ond year the school has run the com­pe­ti­tion. It has grown in pop­u­lar­ity and is hosted by the school’s PTA - the Friends of St Mary’s.

More than 100 visi­tors en­joyed the va­ri­ety of acts, judged by the Lough­bor­ough Mar­tial Arts Cen­tre, Charn­wood School of Dance and Drama, and Maria’s Singing School, who pro­vided feed­back to each of the con­tes­tants plus vouch­ers and passes as prizes to add to prizes do­nated by BrightLights theatre group, Frenzy Youth Theatre and Lough­bor­ough Laser Quest.

Andy from McDon­ald’s was the MC and do­nated a party at McDon­ald’s for all the con­tes­tants. Maria Vereten­ina’s young choir at­tended and Maria en­ter­tained the au­di­ence with her beau­ti­ful singing. The stage was dec­o­rated beau­ti­fully by Coun­try Bas­kets Lough­bor­ough and prizes for each of the chil­dren were do­nated by the Pol­ish Lough­bor­ough Busi­ness Group.
