When will trust accept mental heath advances?

Loughborough Echo - - LETTERS -

IF UP-TO-DATE treatment for psychosis as recommended by NHS Choices is talking therapies why is Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust considering a £50 million bid for build work?

The Trust was criticised in the Care Quality Commssion’s report for its lack of access of psychological therapies yet mentions only physical restructuring of a relatively new unit. The Towers hospital existed for 150 years and it took long enough to get that horror closed.

When will this trust start to accept advances in mental health treatment?

Since when did removing ligature points, keeping medication in date, replacing a few door panels and furniture and ensuring two to four bed dormitories are kept single sex need £50 million?

What a stink - what’s a building to modern person - to - person psychological therapy and treating mental health sufferers as people of worth and value capable of benefiting from humane attitudes and contributing to their community.
