Balloon team at air festival
LOUGHBOROUGH University’s Balloon Team travelled to Warwickshire to take part in the Midlands Air Festival in the grounds of the historic Ragley Hall estate.
Glorious sunshine and light winds enabled the team, led by pilot Nigel Carr, to enjoy four flights over the weekend.
Hot air balloon flights take off a few hours after dawn and a few hours before dusk, so the team had to be in the briefing sessions at 5.30am and 5.30 pm before their flights.
Pilot Nigel Carr said: “Students aren’t known for their ability to get up early in the morning, but the team from Loughborough were ready and willing each morning over the weekend.”
