-

FOUR maximums were scored in the local derby game between the Bull and Bush Lions and the Gatecrashers in Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborough and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League last week.

Paul Hutchins hit one and Tony Spencer his second of the summer season for the ‘Lions’ and Dave Sloan and Steve Burton also with his second of the summer for the ‘Gatecrashers’, as the ‘Lions’ won 6-3 to keep the pressure on leaders Bottom Railway BA, who beat the Royal Oak DP by the same score.

The Three Crowns Ghostbusters won a close game against their nearest neighbours as they beat Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang 5-4, and Mike Pepper hit a maximum for Spot On MP as they beat the Royal Oak Shooters 8-1. Dan Jones and Steve Coltman also hit maximums for the Boat House Tap Tappers as they beat the Tap and Mallet JB 6-3.

In Wanty’s Division Two leaders Unicorn AW beat the Spot On Rejects 8-1, and in a week where all four Bull and Bush teams played at their local venue, second place Bull and Bush made it six wins out of six with a 6-3 win against the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys. To make it worse for the ‘Laughing Boys’ there is also a correction to their result from 31st May where they lost 5-4 to Fat Sam’s 26er’s and did not win 7-2 as reported. As a result and with Fat Sam’s also beating the Three Nuns Right Footers 6-3 this week they move up to third place. John Allenby hit two maximums for the Bell Foundry Blue Army as they beat the Three Nuns Exiles 6-3 and John now joins Ryan Thacker with three maximums for the season so far in the race for the most maximums in the season trophy for division’s two to five.

In S H Cox Division Three, the Spot On Reds also made it six from six as they beat the Plough B 7-2. Crown Court are up to second spot after another big win this time beating Fat Sam’s B 7-2.

In Generous Briton Division Four the Bottom Railway Leftovers are now six points clear at the top of the division after they beat the White Hart Stags 6-3 and second place Top Railway Wansum lost 5-4 to the Peacock Arrows.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Five the top two both lost 5-4, leaders Generous Briton Luffs losing to Crown KM and second place Tap and Clapper Rojo’s to Black Swan BWA for whom Steve Andrews hit his second maximum of the season.
