Deadline for sports award nominations is looming
PEOPLE have got just days left to nominate their local sporting stars for a top award.
The Charnwood Sports Awards are run by Charnwood Borough Council and give recognition to committed athletes and the dedicated coaches and volunteers who give up their time to support them.
There are 13 award categories including The Joe Humphries Special Recognition Award which has been launched to celebrate the award night’s 10th anniversary.
The Joe Humphries Special Recognition Award will recognise inspirational people and groups who have gone above and beyond and made outstanding achievements in the face of adversity.
The categories this year include: Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Junior Volunteer of the Year, Junior Team of the Year, Disabled Sportsperson of the Year, Senior Sportsperson of the Year, Senior Volunteer of the Year, Senior Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Contribution to School Sport, Best Community Sport & or Physical Activity Project, Outstanding Contribution to Physical Activity and Sport, Joe Humphries Special Recognition Award.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place on Monday, December 3 but the deadline for nominations is 5pm this Friday (September 21).
