Carillon Rooms to host Alzheimer’s fund-raiser
THE Carillon Rooms in Loughborough is set to a host an all-dayer fund-raiser for The Alzheimer’s Society on Saturday (November 10).
‘Faces’ on Loughborough’s scooter and Northern Soul scene: Sean Sex and Julian Clapton spoke enthusiastically about their event.
“The day will start at midday with a vintage market of stalls selling sixties clothing and ‘mod related stuff’, ‘open-deck’ DJs in the afternoon and we’ve got the DJ Jodie Richardson singing a set of mod and soul tunes.”
“In addition, there will be a screening of the short film ‘The Pebble and The Boy’, we’ll then regroup at 7pm with a line-up of Northern Soul DJs until late into the night. It’s going to be a cracking day for with the proceeds of the night do ticket money going to a great cause.”
The afternoon event is free entry which includes the vintage market, ’open deck’ DJ sets, singer and film screening, with £5 being charged to gain entrance to the evening festivities. Julian explained why they had chosen The Alzheimers Society: “It’s a very nasty disease, I lost my father to it. We wanted to give something back and it’s a cause very close to our hearts for that reason.”
