Car­il­lon Rooms to host Alzheimer’s fund-raiser

THE Car­il­lon Rooms in Lough­bor­ough is set to a host an all-dayer fund-raiser for The Alzheimer’s So­ci­ety on Satur­day (Novem­ber 10).

‘Faces’ on Lough­bor­ough’s scooter and North­ern Soul scene: Sean Sex and Ju­lian Clap­ton spoke en­thu­si­as­ti­cally about their event.

“The day will start at mid­day with a vin­tage mar­ket of stalls sell­ing six­ties cloth­ing and ‘mod re­lated stuff’, ‘open-deck’ DJs in the af­ter­noon and we’ve got the DJ Jodie Richard­son singing a set of mod and soul tunes.”

“In ad­di­tion, there will be a screen­ing of the short film ‘The Peb­ble and The Boy’, we’ll then re­group at 7pm with a line-up of North­ern Soul DJs un­til late into the night. It’s go­ing to be a crack­ing day for with the pro­ceeds of the night do ticket money go­ing to a great cause.”

The af­ter­noon event is free en­try which in­cludes the vin­tage mar­ket, ’open deck’ DJ sets, singer and film screen­ing, with £5 be­ing charged to gain en­trance to the evening fes­tiv­i­ties. Ju­lian ex­plained why they had cho­sen The Alzheimers So­ci­ety: “It’s a very nasty dis­ease, I lost my fa­ther to it. We wanted to give some­thing back and it’s a cause very close to our hearts for that rea­son.”
