New exhibition at the Sock Gallery
A NEW exhibition entitled Arts, Memories and Emotion has arrived at the Sock Gallery at Loughborough Town Hall.
This exhibition is part of Charnwood Borough Council’s programme of activities to mark 100 years since the end of WW1. Featuring the historic Carillion Quilt being shown in full for the first time, a 1931 film reel of the first Carillonneur Eric Jordon playing the bells, sheet music to see and listen to and many more interesting artefacts on display.
A memory tree will be in the gallery inviting people to leave memories or messages of love for their loved ones who have fought or are still fighting in conflicts.
A Quilt Workshop will also be held on Sunday, November 11, from noon to 4pm, a free adult and family drop in event - create a quilt patch for a 2018 community centenary quilt and be a part of history!
The exhibition runs from now until November 22.
