New ex­hi­bi­tion at the Sock Gallery

A NEW ex­hi­bi­tion en­ti­tled Arts, Mem­o­ries and Emo­tion has ar­rived at the Sock Gallery at Lough­bor­ough Town Hall.

This ex­hi­bi­tion is part of Charn­wood Bor­ough Coun­cil’s pro­gramme of ac­tiv­i­ties to mark 100 years since the end of WW1. Fea­tur­ing the his­toric Car­il­lion Quilt be­ing shown in full for the first time, a 1931 film reel of the first Car­il­lon­neur Eric Jor­don play­ing the bells, sheet mu­sic to see and lis­ten to and many more in­ter­est­ing arte­facts on dis­play.

A mem­ory tree will be in the gallery invit­ing peo­ple to leave mem­o­ries or mes­sages of love for their loved ones who have fought or are still fight­ing in con­flicts.

A Quilt Work­shop will also be held on Sun­day, Novem­ber 11, from noon to 4pm, a free adult and fam­ily drop in event - cre­ate a quilt patch for a 2018 com­mu­nity cen­te­nary quilt and be a part of his­tory!

The ex­hi­bi­tion runs from now un­til Novem­ber 22.
