TERRATRIP T202 RALLY COMPUTER
£220 (including sensor) Rating: donbarrow.co.uk
Terratrips will be familiar to anyone who has nosed around a pukka Camel Trophy motor. They provide accurate odometer and speedometer readings and are calibrated against a measured distance. They are driven by pulses from a ABS sensor or from the speedometer drive – wirelessly for electronic speedos. The latest version also works with a GPS sensor.
Mine was bought with navigational events like the Mac 4x4 in mind, where they use tulip diagrams to help you navigate the route and you need to know an accurate mileage.
However, it’s also a valuable bonus for everyday driving, as it tells you how fast you are going within 1 per cent – way better than the average bouncy Land Rover speedo.
Reliable measuring tool.
