POLICE OFFICER DEATH BLAMED ON RUMOUR OF AFFAIR
Inquest told fears over ‘affair’ and work drove her to take own life
APOLICE sergeant took her own life because she was tormented by an alleged affair between her policeman husband and a police community support officer, an inquest heard.
Sgt Louise Gibson lived in Macclesfield but worked for Thames Valley Police in Buckinghamshire.
An inquest heard that she was told by a colleague that her husband was having an affair with a PCSO based at the same station. She then disappeared from her parents’ home in Great Kingshill, High Wycombe, the day it was decided she would be ‘temporarily side- lined’ from frontline duties to deal with her marital problems. She was found hanged in nearby woodland four days later.
