Looking back at town origins
A HISTORIAN entertained an art group with his illustrated exhibition of how the town centre had developed from the 18th century.
Mathew Hyde entertained 30 people visiting Macclesfield Community Artspace based at Sutton Mill, on Heapy Street.
The talk, called History Through the Window, looked at the copper works, brickworks and clay pits through the later development of silk and paper mills, canals and railways in the 19th century to the 20th century industries still here.
Tea and Talks run on the first Sunday of the month from 4pm to 5.30pm.
