Puppies left covered in sores because owner wouldn’t pay for £8 treatment
PET BAN FOR MAN WHO USED HUMAN MEDICINE INSTEAD
THE owner of a dog and puppies left covered in sores and partially bald told police that the £8.16 cost of treating them was “too expensive”, a court heard.
Peter Green, 32, (pictured left) was banned from keeping animals for three years after he was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to Stella his dog. Instead of treating the animal with prescribed medication, Green attempted to use remedies intended for humans, magistrates were told.
The dogs ended up losing fur and developing painful sores on their bodies.
The puppies had developed the condition within hours of being born.
