Nursery kids celebrate the step up to school at their graduation
NURSERY kids celebrated stepping up to primary school with their own graduation day.
The children, who will be leaving Kidsunlimited nursery in Tytherington, based at Tytherington Business Park, to go to primary school, held a graduation ceremony for parents and staff.
During the day all the children taking part wore graduation hats and gowns and took it in turns to play a variety of musical instruments.
They also sang songs that represented each stage of their journey through pre-school, and at the end of the performance each child was presented with a graduation toy bear and a certificate.
Lorraine Roberts, the nursery manager, said: “The staff, children and Beryl – who is the nursery’s music teacher – have been working very hard to put the performance together to share with parents. They started with a song about Kidsunlimited and how the children love to learn and play each day, then an autumn ‘pumpkin song’ was next and after that a Christmas song which they sang in French.
“The children have enjoyed a variety of different themed play areas throughout their time here and as the post office was a firm favourite with all the kids they decided to sing the theme to Postman Pat.
“For the very last performance of the day they sang ‘the Goodbye Song’ which brought tears to every body in the room.”
“All the parents said how much they enjoyed the ceremony and were very impressed with all the work that the staff and students had put into the day.
“One parent said what a great way it was to end out journey together.
“I was so proud of all my staff team, the children were a credit and enjoyed every minute, as I said to all my families it has been an absolute pleasure being allowed to become a part of their families and I wish them all the best for their new adventure off to big school.”
